Vaccination proof or a negative COVID-19 test will be needed for non-vaccinated attendees.
The Call of Duty League today announced CoD Champs in 2021 as anticipated.
The Galen Center in Los Angeles will host the 2021 CDL Championship Weekend from August 19 to 22. The LAN event will be open to the public, but the Call of Duty League wants to beef up its security procedures for the $2.5 million competition.
“Starting today, all guests must produce proof of vaccination or, if not completely vaccinated, a negative PCR or antigen test received within 72 hours of your attendance,” according to the CDL. “Regardless of vaccination status, all attendees must wear a mask during the event.”
This statement came after the completion of the 2021 Call of Duty League Stage Five Major, which took place from July 29 to August 1 at the Esports Stadium Arlington. This was the first major CDL tournament in over a year that had fans in attendance. However, some players, including Scump and Envoy of OpTic Chicago, tested positive with COVID-19 after the event.
The CDL Championship Weekend 2021 will include the top eight regular-season teams fighting for the first-place award of 1.2 million dollars. This year it will be the third big LAN Call of Duty event and the second will be attended by fans. Due to the coronavirus outbreak last year, the CDL Championship was played online and victors were crowned by the Empire of Dallas.
Further information regarding the event’s improved security procedures is available on the official CDL website for future CoD Champs 2021 participants. The 2021 CDL weekend starts on Thursday, August 19th at 2 p.m. CT, with a battle of the 5-Major Stadium winner from the Dallas Empire vs RØKKR from Minnesota.
