The lineup for the PGL Major Stockholm Champions Stage has been released, and it includes a number of intriguing matchups.
Following the end of the Legends Stage of the PGL Major Stockholm, the eight teams who will compete in front of a live crowd in Sweden at the Avicii Arena have been decided, and the lineup has been set.
The two teams that progressed from the Swiss round with perfect records will be on opposite sides of the single-elimination, best-of-three bracket, which will begin on Thursday with a match between Heroic and Virtus.pro.
G2 will then face NIP, the last team to progress from the group stage, while Gambit and FURIA will face off in front of a 16,000-strong crowd on Friday, putting the CIS side to the test after being one of the most powerful teams during the online era.
The final quarter-final series, including a brawl involving Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut as the tournament favorites, Natus Vincere, take on Vitality, is probably the most engaging of the set. s1mple’s team will have their job cut out for them if they defeat Vitality, as their path to the Major title appears to be difficult, with likely match-ups against Gambit, G2, or NIP in the next stages.
