Malta has served the organization for more than two years.

Renegades revealed early Thursday that long-time player Liam “malta” Schembri would be leaving the team.

When Renegades acquired Grayhound’s lineup in December 2019, the 26-year-old player joined the organization. The team presently has a slot at the IEM Katowice Play-In in February, but no replacement has been confirmed.

Malta competed in eight major international events while playing with the Renegades, and helped his side dominate the regional Oceanic scene, never losing a regional event or qualifier.

Despite their local results, the Renegades were never able to go on long winning streaks in international play, generally only picking up a single victory. Their biggest performance came at IEM Cologne 2021, when they defeated OG 2-0 and then took a map from Natus Vincere.

Renegade’s Updated Roster:

  • Simon “Sico” Williams
  • Joshua “INS” Potter
  • Jordan “Hatz” Bajic
  • Alistair “aliStair” Johnston
  • David “kingfisher” Kingsford (coach)
