As we approach the 2022 LEC Spring Split playoffs, Misfits Gaming’s young phenom Vetheo has emerged as a new leader in Europe’s mid lane talent pool. According to Oracle’s Elixir, the 19-year-old leads all LEC players with a whopping 34.3 percent share of his team’s total kills this season.
The French star was a standout member of the Misfits’ postseason run after quickly becoming one of the league’s best players. He not only has the highest kill share in the league, but he also has the most kills, the fifth-highest KDA, and the third-highest damage of any player in the LEC. Throughout the spring, his talent and performances were critical to his team’s success. Misfits finished the season with a 12-6 record.
This split, Vetheo also had a diverse champion pool, with 11 different champions played across 18 games. He was once best known for his exceptional Zoe play, but those days are long gone. With champions like Sylas, Yasuo, Akali, Viktor, and Syndra in his arsenal, he can easily fit into a variety of team compositions.
Shlatan, his dependable partner and rookie jungler, was also a huge help throughout the split, providing Vetheo with valuable pressure that allowed him to scale up toward the mid-to-late game. Once the Misfits reached this stage, their well-coordinated teamfighting and Vetheo’s mechanical skill were on display as he ripped through skirmishes.
Looking ahead, Vetheo and the rest of the Misfits will be up against the region’s top team, Rogue. It will be their first true best-of-five test as a unit this year, and it should provide fans with a good look at their potential as European League leaders.
Misfits fans can catch them in action when the 2022 LEC Spring Split playoffs begin on March 25.
