It’s all systems go for the NA VCT LCQ.
Version1 has started filling the open roster spot on its men’s VALORANT team by signing Chad “Oderus” Miller, a former CS:GO pro and former Dignitas/Kansas City Pioneers player.
After Anthony “vanity” Malaspina, Version1’s former in-game leader, left V1 to reunite with his former Chaos E.C. teammates on the Cloud9 Blue VALORANT roster, Oderus steps in to fill the void left by the achieved IGL. V1 hasn’t played since his exit, with their most recent appearance in late July in the VCT Stage Three Challengers event, where they lost four straight series, including one to Oderus and KCP.
Oderus stated in the launch video that joining Version1 was a “no brainer” when the Minnesota-based organization offered him a contract, citing the roster’s skill and experience level. Many viewers were surprised when V1 reached Masters Two Reykjavk just months after the roster was put together during Stage Two. Despite making it this far, their lackluster performance in Stage Three has landed them in the Last Chance Qualifier alongside seven other outstanding teams.
With less than a week until the LCQ, Oderus will have to learn to pay attention to Zellsis’s callouts, who have taken over the IGL role after vanity’s departure. Since the two have shared a similar agent pool of Viper and Killjoy in their most recent matches, many fans will be curious to see how his skillset meshes with wippie’s.
