Things are changing at LAT.

TJHaLy, Venom, and John have all announced their resignation from the Los Angeles Thieves for the next 2021 Call of Duty League season.

TJHaLy declared himself an unrestricted free agent on August 28, however, neither John nor Venom had confirmed their contract situation at the time of publication. Unlike TJ, who joined OpTic Gaming Los Angeles in October 2019 and remained with the club when the franchise spot was sold to 100 Thieves last summer, both Venom and John joined LAT this season.

Venom, who had success as a member of WestR on the North American Challengers circuit, decided to join the Thieves on March 22 and immediately replaced Temp in the starting team lineup before Stage Two.

The Thieves benched Venom and Drazah in favor of SlasheR and Huke after top-six wins at Stage Two and Stage Three Majors, as well as a 1-2 start to Stage Four group play. Venom was loaned to EastR in Challengers for the remainder of the season. In the North American Finals, his squad placed eighth.

After spending the first five months of the season in Challengers, John, a one-time COD world champion and MVP, made his CDL debut in Stage Five group play. Despite aiding the team to a 3-2 record in group play, including a victory over OpTic Chicago, John and the Thieves were eliminated from the Stage Five Major with yet another top-six finish. LAT finished the CDL Championship with a top-eight finish after losing their single match.

Drazah, Kenny, SlasheR, and Huke have all been added to the Thieves’ roster as a result of these releases.
