Following a 13-0 loss, the newly-rebuilt 100 Thieves VALORANT roster arrived just two days later with a 13-0 win of their own in their first event since the org made several surprise roster moves last Monday.
Loan players Sean “bang” Bezerra and Noah “jcStani” Smith made their debuts in the Knights Monthly Gauntlet for February today. Two decisive best-of-one wins (one without Hiko) over MELIOREM and GunsForHire advanced 100T to the playoffs, where they will face ex-Limit in the first round.
On Haven, 100T made a statement on defense with nine successful retakes, led by a 20-kill performance from Asuna on Jett. Asuna was also a perfect 6-for-6 in opening duels. Ethan had 18 kills and nine assists. Bang and jcStani had little to do as both Ethan and Asuna left.
To round out the two-map match, 100T nearly hit ex-Limit with back-to-back shutouts, clocking an 11-1 attack half on Split. They eventually came away with a 13-5 victory.
This result comes just days after The Guard’s “13-0 heard round NA,” when they capped their NA VCT Challengers One series win over 100T with a 13-0 rout of Ascent. The Guard’s defense punished 100T’s zero-duelist composition, with trent putting on a Team of the Week-worthy 18 kills over two deaths.
Following the match, 100T founder Nadeshot declared the outcome “unacceptable,” and the organization announced the release of offseason signings ec1s and BabyJ just a day later. Both players signed with 100T less than 40 days prior, just two weeks into the NA VCT season. Following the initial releases, 100T signed bang and jcStani (on loan) from TSM and Pioneers, respectively.
With the flawless victory and series win under their belts, the new 100T roster advances to the Knights event to face the winner of Knights Academy vs. TSM Academy. On Sunday, Feb. 27, they will play Luminosity in VCT.
