Fredit BRION improved to sixth place in the 2022 LCK Spring Split today after defeating Liiv SANDBOX 2-0 in week eight of the season.

With the 2022 LCK Spring Split coming to an end and teams securing their playoff spots, today’s match between Fredit BRION and Liiv SANDBOX was crucial for those final postseason slots.

Fredit BRION were sixth in the standings with a 6-8 record, two wins ahead of seventh-placed KT Rolster. However, due to the strength of their schedule, today was a must-win for them to keep their playoff spot.

Liiv Sandbox began play with a 4-9 record and an easier schedule in the coming weeks. As a result, today’s match between the two teams was a battle for a better chance at playoff qualification.

Lava, Fredit BRION’s mid laner, took over on Ahri in game one, winning with an 11/0/8 scoreline in 28 minutes. Then, in game two, Fredit BRION’s entire team dominated in lane thanks to support Delight’s impressive engages on Leona. Fredit BRION looked stronger than Liiv SANDBOX throughout both games, and they are now on the verge of securing a playoff spot.

The Fredit BRION are now 7-8 in the 2022 LCK Spring Split and alone in fifth place, one win ahead of the Kwangdong Freecs. That being said, Fredit BRION have a difficult schedule ahead of them, but this win over Liiv Sandbox has increased their chances of making the playoffs.

If Fredit BRION makes the 2022 LCK Spring Split playoffs, it will be their first playoff appearance since joining the LCK as hyFresh Blade in 2020. After finishing in ninth or tenth place last year, Fredit BRION 2022 has seen significant performance upgrades from top Laner Morgan, who has transformed the squad into a playoff team.

Fredit BRION will face T1 on March 12 in an attempt to extend their winning streak to five games against the undefeated first-place LCK squad.

After losing the core pieces to its lineup, Liiv SANDBOX’s expectations for the 2022 LCK Spring Split were low. With a slim chance of making the playoffs after today’s loss, they’ll likely use the remaining games to mature as a team before the 2022 LCK Summer Split.
